"The Bernard Shaw is Bodytonic’s new bar. We set up shop in this 112
year old boozer in October 2006 and plan on having a bit of a laugh
with the place. It's our first pub (awwh) after a background of running
clubs, festivals and that sort of thing and are hopefully serving up a
laidback, fun, cosy, welcoming, friendly sort of place, with a half
daycent pint, nice people, good music and all the other things that go
into a good boozer.
The local stories tell us this place has had a pretty colourful past,
Sunday morning strip clubs, the legendary battlesaxe Old Mrs Bambrick
and bar fights a plenty. Now, whilst you wont get a bar stool smashed
over your back, we’re still going to have a little fun with this place.
We have DJs & bands on, with good booze deals 7 days a week and a
nifty smoking area with a pool table and fusbol table & whatever
else can be wedged in.
We have also have a few extra bits in like a well stocked magazine
rack, completley free Wi-Fi, Playstation nights and that sorta thing."
