Dublin Docklands Development Authority in association with Note Productions presents
ANALOG 18-20 July 2008
LONDON’S PETIT MAL AND COPENHAGEN’S MIT NYE BAND ADDED TO NINEPOINT RECORDS ANALOG STUDIO SHOW LINE-UP on JULY 19
Analog and Ninepoint Records are pleased to announce London's PETIT MAL
and Copenhagen's MIT NYE BAND as the guests at their evening at ANALOG
STUDIO on Saturday 19 July.
An evening of late night experimentalism, the Ninepoint show, curated
by the label's Gavin Duffy of Cap Pas Cap and Thread Pulls and designer
Peter Maybury, will feature Mit Nye Band (My New Band) from
Copenhagen's thriving underground scene and London-based Petit Mal.
Ninepoint's own Thread Pulls also feature.
Mit Nye Band (My New Band) is a social experiment, an organism.
Hypnotic rhythms and transparent melodies and textures are combined
with multilayered voices in a collage of sound that is moody,
fragmented and pulsating. Mit Nye Band is comprised of both veterans
and new faces of the young Danish alternative music scene, and is most
of the time Andreas, Asger, Jannis, Jo, Kim LAS, Marie Eline and Nis B.
London-based electro pop duo Petit Mal features moonlighting members of
Antifamily: Ben Seymour and Melanie Gilligan. Other Music NYC has
described them as ‘Chris & Cosey meet Malaria, with lyrics by
Robbe-Grillet’. Petit Mal's eponymous album is out in June on the
Difficult Fun label.
Thread Pulls are Gavin Duffy and Peter Maybury. Current releases are
the mini-album series "Fluorescent 1, 2 and 3" on their label Ninepoint
Records. Limited to 100 copies, each package contains an individual
artwork by Garrett Phelan. Tracks from Fluorescent 3 were
remixed/remade by David Donohoe and released in June as the
album-length "Moonless and Crowblack". There are only 50 hand-made
copies of this release. Thread Pulls became the first (and so far only)
Irish band to be invited to play at the All Tomorrow's Parties festival.
Show 11.00pm
Tickets 10 Euro (incl booking fee) from Ticketmaster and usual outlets
