I normally don't do these gimmicky things but I know someone suffering from MND so if it helps more people give €2 that otherwise wouldn't have, then it's worth getting wet and cold for. It wasn't actually that bad.

Is MND and ALS the same thing?

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a form of motor neuron disease (MND). There are many types of MND but the MND that most Irish/British people refer to is ALS (which is the more correct term). ALS is also called Lou Gehrig's disease but there is evidence to suggest that Lou Gehrig didn't actually have Lou Gehrig's disease but instead was suffering from head trauma. Same deal with Leadbelly.

I've heard it described as a "middle class wet t-shirt competition for clicktivists" which is pretty funny. It's getting a tad tiresome at this point but no problem with it other than that. Harmless fun and for a good cause that otherwise gets very little press.
