IN AID OF THE PETER MCVERRY TRUST
Vicar Street. December 15th
Tickets priced €30 on sale Thursday October 9th @ 9am from www.ticketmaster & outlets nationwide
Glen Hansard will re-group his full band for a special one-off performance in aid of the Peter McVerry Trust on December 15th, his first live show in Dublin since his two night stint in Vicar Street in November 2013. Special guests for the show will be revealed at a later date. The band features members of The Frames, as well as brass and string sections.
Glen has spent most of the year recording and writing the follow-up to last year’s brilliant Rhythm and Repose album. He also found time earlier in the year to perform several shows in Brazil and a tour of Australia with Eddie Vedder and he played a short summer tour in the US with the band, which included the Lollapalooza Festival.
All profits from the show will go to the Peter McVerry Trust which was established in 1983 by Fr Peter McVerry to tackle homelessness, drug misuse and social disadvantage. Since then, it has supported thousands of vulnerable young people on the margins of Irish society. Now, for the first time its 31 year history the organisation is now accommodating over 300 people per night in Dublin.
