Thread: Smoking ban

  1. Smoking ban

A twist to the no-smoking-in-bars issue:

Herbal cigarettes at issue in Delaware ban
Source: Newszap: Delaware State News, 2003-07-23

Health advocates and government officials have begun discussing what can be done about the herbal cigarettes not restricted by the state's indoor smoking ban.

The Clean Indoor Air Act forbids only the smoking of tobacco products in most indoor public places. Herbal cigarettes, such as the Ecstacy brand, contain substances such as catnip and spearmint, but have no tobacco.

A Smyrna bar recently had its fine for violating the smoking ban reversed after the owner argued his customers could have been smoking herbal cigarettes, which are sold in the establishment.

I tired Rose hip fags once, trying to give up... in the end I stole my flat mates Silk Cut and replaced them all with the foul pretend ciggies and took all the tar nictoniry goodness for myself.
I read the entire thread because of pantones post and only now realised that his post has nothing to do with the tread whatsoever...

I think the point is that you say to your freindly neighbourhood Garda raiding committee, "I may have been smoking a non-illegal ciggie. Please prove otherwise".
At which point they present your Silk Cut butts and packet as evidence and yuo get 20 years. Or something.

Does anyone know a non-foul tasting, nicotine-free alternative to tobacco?
I have just quit fags (completely by accident, as it happens) but I'm living in the land of weed and don't want to have to give that up just yet too. And please don't suggest pure joints. Neither my wallet nor my brain can stand such treatment.

  5. Why don't you make some brownies and take it that way. Worked a treat for Emily and Norris in Coronation street recently

No, but you should buy yourself a dug-out. Remember that thingy that made Hector puke and giggle for 2 hours in a party in Simono's houses in Sandymount. One of those. They're great for smoking good week without any tobacco.

I heard the missus got a job - tell her congrats from me.
Runs aren't nice with junkie proof lights, no soap and one sink that's flooded.

  7. how can this happen?
Through a combination of factors, namely:
    Running out of cigarettes.
Having a cold/bug which made the last couple of cigarettes taste foul and make me feel very ill.
Thus not going to the shop to buy more cigs.
By the 4th day (today) I am no longer with cold, and have no particular desire to buy more fags.

Why don't you make some brownies and take it that way?
Because it's really not the same thing. I don't want to have to wait an hour to get high and then to get really fucking uncontrollably high.

I don't remember actually. Was that the party where a certain avant-gardist fell on a flower pot and had to be asked to leave?
I suppose I could try some sort of pipe, but as I said, I prefer not to smoke it pure and I enjoy the actual experience of smoking long hand rolled ciggies. And pipes/bongs etc are so American...

Perhaps a cup of tea might be in order. I like tea...
