Anybody have any A.W. stories?

I've watched his life story loads of times - an inexhaustible fountain of infotainment - and want to know more without actually approaching him on George's Street (I believe he can talk the arse off a donkey (?)). Seems like he was pretty much dumped by G Ryan, Friday etc. when the novelty wore off. But the guy's so entertaining I can't believe he's not a regular fixture somewhere on tv. I've mentioned his name to a couple of people and they just rolled their eyes in a jaysus-don't-talk-to-me fashion, so what's the troot?

His film is being shown again in Meeting Hoose Sq. this Sunday. If you haven't seen it, it's well worthwhile.

I'm not one of his henchmen by the way, if such a thing exists

We did one of those Temple Bar Music Centre gigs on saturday afternoons that he used to do. It was a nightmare. He seemed like quite a nice (but completely mad) person. We did get the impression that there were a lot more people there who were laughing at him rather than with him. Definitely an experience though.

There was the good tale of him buying two Playgirl videos in Virgin off Mick Heaney.

But my favourite is the Secrets audition story, which can only be prised from one L O'Toole when he's drunk.
