Theres a gig on in Meehans pub in drumshambo, leitrim on friday 6th august with Los Langeros, the wonderful Sherman m4 and a magician - hopefully no one is cut in half by accident. its 6 euro and a benfit for amnesty.

ggis in drumshambo should be a regualr thing from now as they have got a pa system and a venue so watch out for that if your in a band, bringing over bands or looking for new places to go etc.

damo i gave some stuff to food not bombs last week and my phone book was in the box so i have a contact but no access to it, i will get it back soon but if you need a contact in the meantime try hick as they are up there on friday.

the story with ross is complicated, i asked everywhere lately and th eonly possibility is this...

theres a bar that has a late license and gets punters in after 10.30 or 11.00 but no one before, i can get this and the offer is the owner will pay bands - about 250, he will charge a fiver in and chance he covers himself, but they have no pa, not too bad - especially as i know where theres a vocal pa to be had in ross for free so if there was good amps this is cool. i was trying to get this for thieving liars but it was booked that night.

problem is they want any " really loud" bands over by 10.30, so we would need to put on a more acceptable band for when their normal punters started to come in,
eg easpa measa or whoever 830- 915, touring band 9.15- 10.15, some listenable band - ska or whatever 10.15 - 11.15. then their own djs would be on for their late crowd but we can just come back to my gaff for a session then- much cheaper etc.

but who is listenable in the publics eye bar ska that we like? and unless pocket billiards want to take up a residency it's complicated!

if it worked it would be great, i suppose the only thing to do is try it and see.
