Watched 2001: A Space Odyssey a couple of nights ago and really enjoyed it. I remember the first time I saw it thinking HAL the sentient computer as a terrifying creation, something out of a horror movie. But this time around he broke my heart, he's the emotional centre of the movie.

Loved this quote I came across on it:

Christopher Palmer has noted that there exists in the film a coexistence of "the sublime and the banal," as the film implies that to get into space, mankind had to suspend the "sense of wonder" that motivated him to explore space to begin with.

Chef - a rather nice, amusing and lovely looking movie, with amazing food. Jon Favreau suits these things.

Lucy - a highly entertaining and lovely looking movie with amazing fx. Have to hand it to Scarlett J.

Combining 2 of my favourite things - cannibalism and cage fighting. This is gorey, stupid, troma-like film which reminded me a bit of Blood Diner.

Late 60's fly on the wall drama using non-actors which follows a group of delinquent 'skinhead' teenagers. Pretty interesting though the progressive rock sound track seemed very out of place.

Fun, old dark house whodunit with some of the worse comic relief going.

Night Moves. Really liked it. A slow burning thriller with loads of atmosphere and a trio of excellent performances. Superb score too, from the guy who did the music for Cold in July.

Watched that CBGB's movie from last year last night.

Was pretty dire but nonetheless perfect for my needs.

Recommended if yer tired and just want something brainless to veg out to.
