haha, what?it felt like a Sky One production in lots of places.
haha, what?
I disagree. The spirit of the film is very much present. they've managed to nail the mix of humour and sudden violence, but it already feels like they’re going in their own direction. It was all of those things.
Cheap, flat, just not quite right.
WHAT ABOUT THE FEMALE CHARACTERS?
Frankly, it was racist. Where were the Maoris?
Slate better have an essay on this.
Second episode is another winner. Billy Bob looks like shit but is clearly having a blast with the role.
Yeah meI just saw someone say that on Twitter.
Yeah me
Second episode was grand. I'm clearly not as into it as the rest of ye (Scientician aside). It still feels like a knock off of the film but without the same charm that made the film work so well. Even when they're trying to be weird, it seems safe because you know it's going to be a bit weird because the film was a bit weird but in the film. It feels like this is an all right TV series being given a bit more kudos than it deserves because it essentially borrows the title and the ideas from a film we all like. Plus it seems like the plot is already being stretched out which bodes badly for the remaining 8 episodes.
